The use of learning strategies is a totally individual matter. Learning strategies are tools that offer a means of making kanji learning faster, more efficient, more effective and more enjoyable.
Many of the strategies in the Strategy Inventory for Learning Kanji (SILK) were reported by students studying Japanese in Australia, identified by asking how they remember kanji. Others were identified from various kanji learning resources, including those available for Japanese primary school students in Japan.
